As a lifelong Christian until my retirement and my beloved wife's increasingly serious illnesses, her pain and suffering started me on a quest that still continues today. Like my friends, I had believed what Christian funerals seem to imply: that death is final. Yet, I had read that reunion with deceased loved ones does occur in Heaven. Then, along came near-death experiences (NDEs) as well as accounts of messages from spirits in the afterlife. So I broadened my search. It all seemed to fit together in God's plans for us humans.
