This Discussion Guide is written as an additional resource to the book, In the Beginning It Was Not So - Seven Marriage Lessons Learned in the Garden. The Discussion Guide provides groups, couples, and individuals a way to explore and discuss the seven key learnings emanating from the Garden of Eden. These lessons provide magnificent truths revealed in the beginning that can heal and advance all marriage relationships. Continue through this Guide and discover what the Designer (God) intended the marriage relationship to really be. Divorce was not the ideal option then nor the expectation. Unfortunately, it has become so in recent times; but in this Guide we will discover why, "in the beginning, it was not so." This Discussion Guide provides a recap of the pertinent truths of each lesson. It offers several discussion questions to not just provide information, but also transformation of the heart, thought, and mind. Each lesson in this Guide also provides exercises and activities that can be used individually, as a couple, or as a group to further solidify the truths uncovered. To get the most out of this Discussion Guide, it is recommended that you also read the book, In the Beginning It Was Not So. The book will provide more detailed insight that will help foster more meaningful discussion and greater opportunity for heart and mind transformation. Each lesson in this Discussion Guide is conveniently aligned with the lessons in the book for easier reference. Terry and Carol have been married to each other for nearly fifteen years. (Second marriages for both). They are highly active in ministry to couples, centered around building healthy marriages through counseling, coaching, mentoring, teaching, and training. Within the last seven years they have added a focus around ministry to Blended Families (or Stepfamilies). Terry and Carol are Certified Marriage Mentors in connection with the American Association of Christian Counselors, and Certified SYMBIS Facilitators through Drs. Les and Leslie Parrott Ministries. They also help build healthy marriage relationships through One Flesh Ministries, a marriage relationship building ministry in which they are Founders and Executive Officers. Terry and Carol are also Group Coordinators for FamilyLife, a CRU Ministry organization that has provided resources, help, and hope for marriages, and families for over 45 years. These two have been described by couples who know them as: dedicated, sincere, authentic, trustworthy, experienced, wise, people of integrity, energetic, and fun-loving. They love life, love people, and love God who continues to be gracious and loving to them. Terry and Carol are members of Christ Fellowship Church in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. They enjoy traveling together and relaxing at home when given the opportunity. Terry also enjoys reading, watching sports, teaching, mentoring, and shepherding. Carol's gift of hospitality is expressed in her love for cooking, catering, event planning, and entertaining.
