During World War II, Danny Carter defused bombs in England, France, Belgium, and Germany. He rendered-safe the first ever intact V-1 rocket bomb that crash-landed on the continent. He left behind his boyhood railroad shack in Tacoma, ate K-rations served on silver platters in Princess Anne's English castle, and searched the Rothschild's French mansion and Dachau death camp for Nazi booby-traps. His carefully planned explosions shattered the windows of the U. S. Ninth Air Force Headquarters France and immobilized Fort Riley Kansas with smoke. These are the recollections and confessions of an ordinary man in extraordinary times.
