In a world marked by judgements and evaluations, by the division into right and wrong, good and evil, in which we judge people according to whether they act according to our values and convictions or not, conflicts and quarrels are an inevitable and frequent consequence. On the big world stage, disputes and conflicts often lead to violent confrontation with physical weapons, but also with threats, intimidation, blackmail. This approach tries to bring the opponent into line or to eliminate him. The newspapers and news are full of it. Disputes and conflicts also occur in close and private surroundings of people. In the family, between parents and children, between life partners or in the working life. One could get the impression that conflicts and quarrels are simply part of it. The Non-violent Communication (NVC) offers us a possibility to break through this mechanism, to create a coexistence that is not based on opposition, but on a coexistence that strives to fulfil the needs of all. The " 4 Steps " also gives us a tool that can help us ensure that conflicts and disputes are not followed by temporary or final separation, but that, despite all apparent differences, a meeting leads to connection and understanding for one another. The 4 steps help to recognize that we humans, all humans, are not so different in our deepest being. And that we all share the same needs that serve to enrich life. With this recognition, quarrels and conflicts become a chance for deeper connection and understanding with the help of the 4 steps.
