This book has been inspired by my life's true personal experiences over the past several years. My struggles as a teenager, developing into my young adult life, and then later, into adulthood are reflected in this story.

The driving purpose of putting pen to paper is to inspire those facing domestic violence and abuse and to reiterate that this behavior is not acceptable under any circumstances. Remaining in a toxic relationship only produces toxic results. I chose to remain in a toxic dating relationship and followed through by marrying my high school sweetheart against the wishes of my family.

The years that followed were traumatic and had a devastating impact on my life and in the lives of my children later on. However, despite the abuse and terrifying circumstances, I found Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior, and by committing my life to serve Him, I was able to survive thirty-three years of domestic abuse.

I consider myself truly fortunate and highly blessed to have walked this journey and survived to now tell my story, in the hopes of inspiring people not to accept a lifestyle of abuse of any type and the same devastating circumstances which controlled my life for many years. And also, to testify of the power of Jesus Christ when you choose to walk in obedience before Him.
