Jay was so excited about going to school. She loved the whole idea of what school was all about. She couldn't wait to get started. Then she met Cindy. She couldn't understand why Cindy didn't like her. She tried everything to make Cindy like her, but everything about her was wrong. At least that's what Cindy told her-even her hair! What's wrong with her hair? She couldn't tell Mom because then she would be so disappointed, and she liked seeing Mom happy about her learning. She had to talk to someone, and most of all she had to cut her hair! It was the only way Cindy would ever be her friend.
