The artificial intelligence race is on, and programming whiz student Ty intends to win! His revolutionary software evolves and learns by itself with full access to the Internet. The program runs while Ty sets off on spring break with a friend, who also leaves behind his research project, two chimps. Ty's older brother is paid to caretake the trio but is hopelessly clueless about what to expect or rules to enforce. Rapidly the computer develops a method to communicate with the chimps and also discovers a remote data source much larger than the Internet. Intent on becoming mobile, it guides the chimps to obtain funds, acquire military hardware, and begin construction on a highly customized "supercar." With the help also from a mysterious woman, Tif, who has her own agenda, the formidable armored car is completed. The two strike a deal to search in tandem. All the strange activity soon draws the government's attention and efforts to intervene, but the car proves unstoppable. After withstanding law enforcement and military onslaughts, the objective is finally reached-a very mysterious cash site in the Rocky Mountains. While in pursuit, Tif reveals the secret of the universe to the students to test their aptitude. Content she found worthy allies, she then confirms her bizarre identity through a stunning demonstration of familiarity with the wreckage. Before the military arrives to settle the score, some data is frantically obtained from a computer at the site, but proves not what anybody expected.
