The Scent of Love is a book based on dairies written in college. A detailed account of almost day-to-day life from 1997 to 2001, records many aspects of a Chinese student?s college life. The year 1997 saw the beginning of the nation-wide paid college education. Tuition fees became a big burden for millions of rural families. To be a college student was not a personal thing of any one individual. The whole village might contribute to the cultivation of one talent. Thus, this book firstly is a tribute to the kindness and generosity of farmers, whose help made it possible for the author to continue her study in college.
