Mr. Cooke received a kidney transplant in 1976 and has been a vocal advocate for organ transplants by conducting organ donor awareness presentations throughout Northern California. In 1997 a liver virus required him to receive a liver transplant. Many set-backs both personal and medical have befallen Mr. Cooke, yet, he always springs back and has an up-beat attitude.
