My Father Says Grace: Poems by Donald Platt
Donald Platt
Presents a collection of poems that mixes elegy with a larger historical allusion. This book contains a poem detailing a father's stroke and slowly developing Alzheimer's disease and how it affects one family. It includes an elegy for a mother-in-law that provides counterpoint to elegies for more public figures like Janis Joplin and Walt Whitman.
