Mel Bonthuys had her first anxiety attack in 2001 but was only officially diagnosed with anxiety and panic disorder in 2008. This book is a representation of how the condition stole many years of her life and left her dependent on others and unable to do normal everyday tasks. However, her story fortunately doesn't end there though. She talks about how she managed to overcome the worst of her anxiety and panic, and reveals her top tricks and tips to alleviate anxiety. She also talks about how accepting the condition and learning not to fear the anxiety has made the biggest of differences to her. Still in recovery, but doing so much better, Mel has decided to share her story with the world, not as a cured anxiety sufferer but as an anxiety sufferer who is still recovering. She shares how she is working through her fears and how certain techniques have changed her life and her way of thinking. This book is not here to offer you promises of 'miracle' cures, but instead to remind anyone with an anxiety disorder to not give up, and that there is hope and light at the end of the tunnel for any anxiety sufferer, no matter how severe their symptoms may be. It will also reassure anyone that having an anxiety disorder is nothing to be ashamed of, and even while on the road to recovery that you can still live an amazing and happy life!
