The day before he was to start college on a full scholarship, Bernadine Krehye-Holland's son Joseph was murdered in an act of senseless street gun violence. After this tragedy, Bernadine was devastated. She and her husband divorced, and she sunk into a nearly suicidal depression. But through the sustaining grace of God, seeing His hand in bringing her son's murderer to justice, and the support of family and friends, she began her journey to restoration. As a part of her restoration process, Bernadine heeded God's call to help other bereaved families. In 2011, she founded "Forgive and Release," a support group that embraces families who have also lost loved ones through violence or other circumstances. This book chronicles the true story of her healing journey, with a dash of Biblical fiction added to illustrate the fierce spiritual battle God brought her through. It was "The Battle: From Misery to Ministry."
