AFTER TRELAWNY, a contemporary and historical novel, weaves together a 19th century story about writer and adventurer Edward Trelawny - friend of the Shelleys and Byron - and a 21st century romance about the redemptive power of love. Both centuries are linked by a huge cave on Mount Parnassus, Greece, a wild place. Nell lands a movie job in Greece researching Trelawny's time on Mount Parnassus with his child bride where today their daughter, Zella, haunts the cave of her conception. Stories of their father's exploits and the family's tragedy intermingle with Nell's frustration about the movie and fury with Trelawny. Meanwhile in London Nell's grandmother, Molly, befriends a Greek aerialist. Her life's passion - to visit Trelawny's cave - re-surfaces. At 89, is it too late? From out of history, Zella's stories vitally connect Molly's quest with Nell's search for the truth. A multi-layered novel AFTER TRELAWNY uses the narrative to reveal interior and complex dimensions. It considers that life does not stop at death. The dead if we are mindful of them influence our lives.
