Over the last thirty years, there has been a significant number of changes in the workplace. One of the most rapidly changing workplace scenarios is the evolution of the office, specifically the computer workstation. As computer technology continues to evolve, it will no doubt further influence future computer designs. However, one thing is still for sure, humans will continue to interface with these machines no matter their new designs. The author has personally conducted an estimated 3000 individual office workstation evaluations in his lifetime. In addition, he has also instructed hundreds of safety professionals and other Ergonomists on how to conduct these same evaluations. Invariably, the number one question that he has heard over the years is "What checklist do I use?" The author believes that checklists make the evaluator more prone to errors and oversights than if they did not use one at all. To help evaluators be more successful at conducting computer workstation evaluations, he has developed 'The Perry Protocol' and has included it in this book. The Perry Protocol is designed to quickly and with little chance of error help an ergonomics evaluator conduct an evaluation with the confidence and surety of a seasoned Ergonomist.
