Navigating the Darkness is a psycho-educational book that is based on Biblical principles. It is designed to teach people reasons behind malignant and self-destructive behaviors that may cause feelings of darkness and despair in their lives. The book gives simple instructions and interventions using general life skills such as emotional dissection, positive self-talk, action plans as well as powerful self-reflection and personal inventory. This can change and transform life significantly for the reader. It does require effort from the reader and a desire to change the course of their journey. A person without a sense of purpose is plagued with little hope and for some people, a lack of desire to live. This often contributes to severe depression and sadly, too many suicides. It is the desire of the author to restore hope and navigate the reader through their darkness by helping them to heal their heart, soul, mind and spirit. In return they then can help others to do the same. This instills a sence of purpose within a person. The author uses excerpts and personal testimony from her own life to help others identify a possible common connection. She shares personal thoughts and desires as well as personal failures she has suffered throughout her life. She gives frank discussion on how she finally filled the void in her heart and restored life to her spirit by submitting to the call and will of her Lord Jesus Christ. V. Marie offers a pathway for the reader to do the same.
