"Hello Ann, I have several of your essential oil books, and I am a huge fan of the DIY recipe sections. I recently discovered that my teenage son and daughter are both beginning to suffer from dandruff. I started looking through my books for an effective essential oil recipe and didn't find one. What would you recommend?"



Quite a few people suffer from dandruff, it is a very common scalp condition, and isn't anything to be too concerned about if caught and treated early enough. If left untreated, dandruff can become a bigger problem, often causing temporary hair loss, as a result of intense itching and inflammation in the affected area.



There are several OTC hair care products that advertise being effective against dandruff; however, more people are now beginning to search for natural DIY recipes that will allow them to make chemical free solutions to the troubles that ail them. When it comes to dandruff, I always recommend using a DIY shampoo rich in Melaleuca; also known as Tea Tree, Melaleuca is an effective ingredient in any DIY dandruff control shampoo!
