They receive altogether tens of millions of dollars to bolster the lives of families and children, yet the people and children continue to fall through the cracks and fissures. One problem is that program staff and directors are claiming ownership of the sad issue of native suicides. There are launches of grassroots-based suicide prevention networks to counterbalance this issue. There is a crossroad of awareness between indigenous people and these other launches. We are officially and permanently at these crossroads together.
