Purpose Driven Rebecca Tereu

Purpose Driven is a deeply personal account of my journey facing cancer and the multitude of challenges that accompanied it. I was 37 years old when I was forced to drag my young family down into the deep valley of diagnosis, and up the treacherous mountain of treatment. Cancer has no respect for your personal preference and has a nasty habit of setting its greedy sights on the most unsuspecting victims. Age, good health, clear family history or super strong faith is often not enough to guarantee avoidance of this killer disease. The bottom line is that valleys and mountains are known to all of us and this alone has some powerful unification properties. The better side of our nature kicks in as we seek to comfort, encourage, empathise, and share what we learnt along the way - how we made it out alive! Why? So we can prove that it can be done and bring hope to the next person facing their own challenges. Most people however, focus on the darkness that accompanies the journey through their valley or the sheer impossibility factor as we look up at that mountain we are required to conquer. This is far too easy to do! But as with most things in life, there is light and goodness there - if only we would change or sharpen our perspective and embrace our valley and mountain for what it truly is. We also just need to walk it out. And it's in the walk that we often find our purpose. This is my walk and I want to share it with you. I hope that in the sharing you are able to be encouraged, comforted, and even empowered in your own walk.
