The book of Ephesians is about knowledge, understanding of the work of salvation by God through Christ, and the duties of the saved ones to live according to the reason of their salvation: to glorify God in their daily life being blameless and holy before the Lord. Christians who are called from Jews and Gentiles societies make up the Church, the body of Christ. They should be aware of a coming apostasy that would corrupt the divinely ordained government of the local church. This in an important warning for all generations. Christians should never leave their first love" (Revelation 2:4). They must maintain the fervor and devotion to God because they now have full knowledge and understanding of the earlier history of their salvation: predestined to be blameless and holy in Christ.
