It had been ten long years since Scott Reid, the man I thought would always protect and love me, had torn my heart apart. I'd watched from the sidelines during those years as he played ball for the Pittsburgh Pirates. When he came home, I applied for jobs in every state but Michigan. I needed to get away from everything that had to do with him. When I was offered a job at a sports equipment company in Pennsylvania, I jumped at it. He wasn't there anymore. I knew it was a good place to go. Working with numbers was my thing. I loved it. Working with anything sports related and numbers was absolutely perfect.
