The Family Support Fund is reducing barriers to pediatric health care by providing basic needs and services for Children's Mercy patients and caregivers including transportation, food, medicines, therapies and medical equipment. Our desired outcome is to eliminate all barriers to a child's medical care due to a family's inability to obtain basic necessities. All families utilizing the fund receive individualized case management services from a Children's Mercy social worker who helps them access free and low cost services both at the hospital, and within the community.
