My name is Rose and this is a story of the most important time of my life so far. It's about how and why I came out, the end of my junior year of high school, and the beginning of the best summer of my life. It all started a long time ago with a simple kiss, my best friend Amie at the time just asked me to kiss her and I did. Of course we fell in love but we we're afraid others would not understand so we did our best to hide our relationship, and we we're able to for several years, well, until her mother caught us and we we're dragged out of the closet kicking and screaming. We just handled it differently, with the support of my dad, I stood up for myself and accepted the fact that I was out and was no longer going to hide who I really was. Amie who I thought loved me so much decided she didn't love me enough to come out, well, not yet anyway. As odd as it was to have a new student enroll so late in the year I was introduce to Beth just as we we're ramping up for finals. She was calm, quiet, and beautiful in a way I cannot describe. We quickly hit it off and soon became um, yeah friends. Beth ended up asking me to the junior prom and soon after, to be her girlfriend. By graduation we had settled into a wonderful relationship and spent our first summer together discovering each other and of course, just enjoying being in love.
