Facing a treasonous, unknown adversary selling guidance intel to the Koreans, surrounded by innocent (well-armed, and lethally trained) military operatives and their families, the odds aren't exactly stacked in Cypher's favor, but at least this time his personal kryptonite, (AKA Alexandra Hamilton), is safely away camping, far from the dangers of this mission. Communing with Mother Nature, Adam thinks Alexandra's peacefully under the watchful guard of a crew of rambunctious boys and true-blue types like reformed playboy Brett Weston. But Alex's crew explores a happier side of the wild blue yonder, placing her right next door but world's away at the Huntsville Alabama Space and Rocket center, far too close to ops for Adam's comfort. Worse, her stubborn drive to help others puts her under pressure one time too many and inflames a case of CY-OPS induced PTSD she's struggled to ignore. Adam does his best to help while keeping his distance, but the siren call to mend some of the damage he caused still haunts him ...just when failure to stay on target risks the stolen data, Thomas' life, and Adam's freedom. Worse, if caught, his known associates will be identified and Alexandra's close proximity will put her square in the cross-hairs of an investigation she knows nothing about, with interrogators clueless to the powderkeg of trauma lurking within her.... With Brett's love and Adam's expertise, Alexandra survives her mental battles, but when she ignores Brett's warnings and puts Adam's life before her own interests yet again, all three risk losing everything they value most.
