In secret a group of scientists have discovered how to reach enlightenment through technological means rather than spiritual. Marie Matsumoto, during an intership as a security guard, discovers this and is placed into this machine by force. She wakes up 300 years later to find the population of earth disappeared - leaving only those alive in space colonies to repopulate the planet. Now she lives as a free-lance hunter taking down whatever monster Classes roam. While doing this she is trying to find clues as to whether her memories are real or if they're simply delusions.
