Excerpt from the Introduction of the Book: "What could a banker in Bangladesh (Muhammad Yunus), a founder of a non-profit organization from Sierra Leone (Tiffany Persons), an Irish rock star (Bono), and a former president of the USA (Bill Clinton) have in common? At first glance, we could say not a lot; but affording ourselves a larger perspective, what immediately comes to mind are their tireless efforts to get the world in a better place. I too, have asked myself if indeed the world as we've come to know it may be somehow improved. Inspired by the activities undertaken by the aforementioned public figures, I am also of the mindset that we could in fact achieve positive and lasting change as we work towards positive and lasting improvements. My decision to join in 'this contemporary struggle' is largely based on the conviction that good will and the full utilization of our skills, particularly in the public service sector, indeed go hand in hand with the endeavors undertaken to ensure peace through prosperity for all in need."
