The year is 1788, but not of our chronicling, this is not our world. In the earth shaking aftermath of the Revolutionary War the British Empire has emerged victorious, the course of events present and future have been forever altered and it is from the shadow of this truth that two brothers run from the past that has plagued them. Aboard a French trading voyager bound for Hawaii they find peace amongst a crew they have come to know as family, but soon enough they are faced with a mutinous First Mate, an impossible rescue mission and a sinister revelation which could undermine everything they believed in and stood for. Shadow on the River Rush is an adventure thriller set in an alternate history taking stylistic inspiration from the serialised fiction of the 1900s, delving deep into the emotions and makeup of each character illustrating their humanity and in most cases their lack of it. This story is a tale of suspense, adventure, loss, love and above all, hate.
