Jesus did not exist! This claim has gained a great deal of momentum within popular culture currently, and threatens what many Christians hold sacred - that Jesus of Nazareth lived and was the incarnation of God, the second person of the Holy Trinity. It is not uncommon to find people, both educated and uneducated in New Testament studies, jumping on this bandwagon of Christological nihilism and stating categorically that there is no evidence for an historical Jesus. This book examines the hypothetical, "What if?" If Jesus did not exist would Christianity have a future? This author contends, that if it could be proven conclusively that Jesus did not exist, the Christian Myth would, nevertheless, continue to bring profound and mystical meaning to the lives of people everywhere. While Craig firmly considers the Historical Jesus to have been a real person, he explores the hypothetical notion of Jesus' non-existence, as propounded by so many today, showing how the Christian Myth, as an archetypal symbol, continues to retain relevance. He does this by deconstructing the Jesus narrative, viewing it through the lens of science, mythology and spirituality, thus demonstrating its inherent ability to make meaning for people in post-modern context.
