Biscuit Takes Care of her Puppy Lauren Allee

Sooner or later, most children ask to bring a dog into the family. What will you tell your child? How will you explain the BIG responsibilities of dog ownership and care?Biscuit is here to help! She is a real, live guinea pig and a Facebook celebrity who shares her home with her little, white, fluffy puppy, Lily. Biscuit advises young children (preschool to first-grade levels) about the ongoing needs of a dog, and she shows them how they can help care for their own family pooch. The concepts of dog care are presented using colorful and humorously captioned photographs of Biscuit and Lily. Your child will laugh while learning about feeding, bathing, exercising, and giving other forms of care to the family dog. An afterword is added to the book for parents and guardians. It provides useful guidance to help them determine whether or not to bring a dog into their family. Topics of discussion include breed selection, mix, size, gender choice, expense considerations, legalities, training, pet introductions in multi-pet households, pet allergies, the many ways that dogs improve the human experience, and other matters of importance to consider before making the decision to adopt a dog.
