The year is 2075, and Ronald Phrump is waging an outrageous campaign for presidency: promising to finally build "The Great Wall of America" to keep foreigners out; dissolve gay marriages; outlaw all abortions; "bomb the hell out of our enemies"; secede from the United Nations; and mandate the administration of the Cell-a-Bate drug to all young girls and unmarried women (a drug which makes the type of sexual activity leading to pregnancy physically impossible, and is commonly known as the "Blue-Girl" program due to its side-effect of turning the skin blue.) And it seems he has the support of Andy Wescott, the famous film producer, and Dave Benson, the "world's greatest skeptic," along with the blessing of the reincarnated (and very pregnant) Virgin Mary! But all may not be as it seems... Two centuries prior to this, a young boy in Tibet learned the truth about "great men" and the search for wisdom. This knowledge was passed on to Dave Benson's history teacher and chess coach: Steve Hill, and made known to Dave through Hill's dark and strange autobiography. Hill endured the controversial Jorgensen Method of psychotherapy (memory rewriting using lucid dreaming) while in a psych ward following a suicide attempt. There he also met Chris: a case-worker who gave him a fresh perspective and showed him empathy. Will Phrump and his cohorts succeed in turning the world into a darker, more hateful place, or will the unlikely group of film producer, skeptic, and female college student manage to use the lessons of their combined personal histories to win this real-life chess game, altering the course of world history and redirecting our eyes back to the path we all truly seek?
