Tad Callin tells stories, and people usually ask him one of two things. Some ask, "Did that really happen?" Yes, more or less. The details are probably wrong, and the names are definitely mixed up. But an Air Force commander really did shame her squadron with a stuffed pig. A hotel shuttle driver really did threaten to take his passengers with him to the hospital if his wife went into labor. An awkward kid really did walk around wondering if he might be an alien lizard person for most of middle school. And that kid learned a lot about kissing-in front of an audience, no less-from his girlfriend's best friend a few short years later. Some say, "Man, you lead an interesting life. Why don't you write a book someday?" Today is someday.
