This novel takes place predominately during the golden years of 1930s Great Britain, in a historical period of time when the affluent were spoiled with luxurious living, with first class service, travel and entertainment on offer. The 1930s had been pretty uneventful for Stephen so far. Stuck in his small-town routine, the young man yearns for some kind of adventure. But, most importantly, the unlucky in love Stephen just wants someone to share his affections with, a desire which he unexpectedly fulfils after bumping into a beautiful young aristocratic woman. The two hit it off immediately, beginning a passionate whirlwind romance that covers every waking minute. Although the two have only just met, it feels like they've known each other their entire lives, barely able keep their hands off one another. Unfortunately for Stephen, the situation isn't exactly ideal, as he comes to realise his lover's father is the former head of the British Secret Intelligence Service and is being hunted by a network of German spies who are operating clandestinely in Great Britain. The couple become embroiled in a cat and mouse chase as the spies try to use them as a conduit to gain access to the former executive. Working together, the couple attempt to turn the tables on their adversaries by using guile, fortitude and wits to outfox their pursuers. With danger lurking around every corner and the forces of two entire countries closing in, the bond between this new couple is tested as lives hang in the balance.
