Sometimes in life, things are going so well that you almost have to pinch yourself to believe it. Such was the situation Bill Thompson found himself in at Scotsman's Property Casualty Insurance Company. Scotsman was merging with MetroHealth of Chicago, and Bill was being positioned by his management to be the potential CEO of what would become the new subsidiary. While he still had to deal with downsizing his department before assuming his new position, he had no idea of what was in store for him. Shortly after starting to assume some of his new duties, his entire life was ripped apart by what first appeared to be a tragic accident, but turned out to be murder. Within weeks, he would become the main suspect of multiple murders and of having an affair with one of his employees. Nothing seems to make sense as to why this would be happening. However, as he continues to work his way through his professional and day-to-day life, his thoughts and emotions regarding the new position become a lot more complicated. During this time, Bill and the employee he was suspected of having an affair with, find themselves intimately drawn together and start developing both emotional and physical bonds when they discover that one of them may have been the real target of the murders. A tale of murder, fraud, and the lengths people will go, to avoid discovery.
