This book is unlike most you will ever read. One reason is that even though the story is fiction, there are real photos of some of the places, people and animals mentioned in the story. I recreated some of the scenes so I could photograph them for the book. Other photos, I wrote the story around so it would seem more real. At the end of the book, I have a section called Why the Story was Written." I also have sections where the characters talk to the reader and tell their story. This gives even more insight into the lives of the other characters and deeper meaning to the character's personality. Near the end of the book, there is also a photo of a real golden sparrow. This story takes place in rural America, somewhere in the Midwest, during the latter years of the Great Depression. The world, at this time, is facing the greatest challenge it has ever faced, for the dark clouds of World War II are on the horizon. The Bible says that God marks the fall of every little sparrow. Does God, even when the world is filled with violence and the greatest trouble it has ever seen, still notice the death of every sparrow? The story proves he does.
