This collection of work from Robert Benefiel is the authors take on romantic love poetry after he noticed he seemed to be writing nothing else but love poems for a while. Culled from material written over a year, during a transitional and romantic period in the author's own life, the poems blend both a modern and classic approach to the topic, broaching such ranges as e.e. cumming's naughtiness to Pablo Neruda's directness. Meant as homage to the first week of he and his wife's relationship, the pieces themselves take on various aspects of humor, honesty, longing, and directness which always return to the universal theme of love.
