Pete encounters the blue monster and strikes out at him. The blue monster is friendly and doesn't fight back, so they become friends. Pete being weary of the blue monster, because he is different, suggests he sleep in his older brother Georges's bedroom. George plays his drums till late at night, and this upsets the blue monster, so he knocks on Pete's door and asks if he can sleep back in his room. Pete has missed his new friend and invites him to sleep back under his bed. Pete's Monster is a delightful children's bedtime picture storybook about a young boy named Pete and his new friend, a Blue Monster.
