Our beloved Germany was threatened by the rise of Adolf Hitler and the National Socialist Party. We were young patriotic members of the Hitler Youth. But we grew disillusioned with Hitler quickly. My brother and I and others formed the White Rose movement, wrote leaflets calling on our fellow Germans to stand up to the Nazis and defend our homeland. My brother Hans was 24 and I was 21 when we were caught, tried, and executed by the Gestapo. This is our story.
