What Will I Tell Joe? Constance Z Stober

The birth of a grandchild transforms a whole family, especially if that child is an only child. For me, in addition to the joy of greeting this new person, I found myself in a time of reflection. Our family holds a variety of religious and secular beliefs and I wondered how Joe would come to see his world, spiritually. This poem is my attempt to share my spirituality with Joe in a way that a child can understand and that I hope will expand as he grows. He will find his own comfort and wisdom from a variety of sources. I hope my words will offer him a beginning point to develop his own spirituality.
