Publisher Marketing: This book is about the rights of Landmine and explosive remnants of war victims in Nigeria to seek redress under various Human Rights instruments and the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (1999) as amended against Nigerian Government. Mine Action Victims and Survivors majority of whom were not even born during the Civil War (1967-1970) but were injured by Landmines or other Explosive Remnants of War since cessation of hostilities have been left uncared for, abandoned as well as forgotten. This situation has lingered for 44 years without the Nigerian Government which is a State Party to the Mine Ban Treaty (Ottawa Convention) giving any mention or attention to the plight of the victims. This has compelled Nigerian Mine Action Victims to take their Country Nigeria to the Community Court of Justice (ECOWAS Court) to compel Nigeria to clear over 150,000 square kilometers of lands in Eastern region of contamination by Landmines and other Explosive Remnants of War. The book brings out the pleas in law, any litigant could rely upon to ventilate his or her grievance as well as the practice and procedure in the ECOWAS Court, This is about the 1st time in the World History Mine Action Victims would be taking their Country to Court to enforce their Fundamental Human Rights.
