Demarcus is an African American middle school boy. He attends an inner city public school, and money is scarce. His countless hours at the park have earned him respect from the neighborhood and skills that are unmatchable. Adan is a middle class Caucasian middle school boy from a private school. He has learned basketball from expensive travel teams and camps. Money helped Adan develop an incredible shooter?s touch. A sudden tragedy forces their paths to cross unexpectedly. Demarcus blames Adan for the change in his life, and he wants Adan to pay. A love of basketball forces both boys to find a way to work together. Their families, a school, and a community are desperately pulling for them to coexist. Coach Monroe has one shot to pull it off. He will walk a delicate line to reach out to Demarcus in his time of need without pushing him over the edge.
