D., LP, ABPP Cn) examine the relationship between the Index of Learning Styles (ILS), visual-verbal learning preference domains, and five valid neuropsychological instruments that measure visual and verbal cognitive processes. These instruments are the California Verbal Learning Test-II (CVLT-II), the Logical Memory, the Rey Complex Figure Test (RCFT), the Brief Visuospatial Memory Test-Revised (BVMT-R), and the Wechsler Abbreviated Scale of Intelligence-II (WASI-II). The authors discuss the results in the context of statistical and practical significance (i.e., effect size); potential explanations for the pattern of correlations observed are set forth. Strengths and limitations of the study are included as are guidelines for future research with specific populations.
