Peter Dumas is a vampire, a vampire that believes his species should rule the Earth. He has spent the last 400 years searching for the key to achieving that goal: Sheata, Earth's original vampire, queen and mother to all vampires on the planet. Dumas learns that Josh Carr is in possession of the Treaty of Tenochtitlan. The document, thought to be lost long ago, is the missing piece of information Dumas needs to find the imprisoned queen. To get it, he devises a gruesome plan that will both rock the very foundation of the United States and give him the leverage he needs to keep the young Spirit Warrior at bay. Once put in motion, the vampire's plan successfully misdirects the authorities and vilifies Josh, making him public enemy number one. But worse, Dumas has also taken the most important thing in Josh's world, Andie Keller. Now, as the very people he has sworn to protect try to hunt him down, Josh finds himself in a race against time to stop Dumas from resurrecting the most powerful vampire to ever walk the Earth. At the same time he must also find and save his fiance, Andie, before like so many others Dumas has taken, she is LOST IN THE NIGHT.
