The poems in When I Am Yes are incandescent, polyphonic, deeply sensual creations of a mind and heart loving life in a way I've never quite experienced in a poetry collection. Salach invites the reader in to a world that is achingly tender, glisteningly beautiful, startling in its unusual vision, yet familiar, too, as if the hope she's conjured up is not only for us, but in us as well.
