As we become a New Creature in Christ we are changed, we are God's Child. We have been changed from dead to God to alive with God andwe are filled with God's presence. The Old Man we were died and we have put on the New Man...a Child of God. We no longer are dead in our sins and trespasses...we no longer have to sin. We have God's power to resist sin. Before we were saved there was no power in us to resist sin; after salvation God gives us this power. This does not mean that the flesh will not still desire sin...it means that God gives us power to bring the flesh into subjection to Jesus Christ by the power of theHoly Spirit inside us. We still make choices and we are responsible forour choices; but God guides and helps us to make the right choices. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. 5Who is hethat overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is theSon of God. I John 5:4,5
