Raoul, a young coyote, decides to leave his home in the mountains surrounding Phoenix for Coronado, California. He dreams of an exciting new life by the beach. But soon after arriving in Coronado after an eventful trip across the desert, Raoul suffers an unfortunate injury. Forced to live in the shadows so he is not seen, he explores the island by night, and is enchanted by the village and the beach. Raoul falls in love with the Hotel Del Coronado and makes it his new home. When the historic hotel is threatened with danger, Raoul demonstrates the intelligence and the courage to save the magnificent building from certain destruction.
