As a breast cancer survivor I share the journey through diagnosis and treatment and the many struggles along the way. Every cancer survivor has an amazing journey, a life touched by many people during a difficult time. No cancer patient?s journey is the same as another. I want to use my journey to help others who are faced with some of the same struggles. I have always looked at my life as an ordinary life but now I look at all the possibilities to be extraordinary. I view cancer as something that happened to me once, rather than something that defines me. And so life goes on. I want to take this difficult journey and turn it into something positive for me and perhaps others as well. I know my journey is not over but I face each day with a new outlook on life knowing I can help unify people and provide strength for others. I have witnessed first-hand the impact that individuals have had on my life and recovery. I am so very thankful one person had a vision and the courage to get the ripple started. What the person didn?t realize is that she believed in me when I didn?t believe in my own strength and courage and she provided the strength to unify others which in turn gave me the courage. I was part of the power of one. I know I face many more obstacles and challenges throughout this cancer journey but I do not have the fear anymore because of the strength that I have been given through the power of one.
