Begun long ago these tales, musings, poetry and fictitious recollections focus on the line between yes and no, between the contradictory inimical that is desire, race, gender and passion. Laced with erotica, magic, time travel, racial underpinnings and the sexuality breadth (from bi to straight to gay to same gender loving to omnisexual) this is the evolution of a writer playing in the fertile grounds of the collective imagination in interlocking short stories. I Awaken deals with a man becoming a woman surprisingly one morning. Fatal Lovesick Journey is an erotic tale of redemption against a racialized slaughter hundreds of years old as a woman becomes a sexual weapon. Calys is willingly and unwillingly used against crimes that precede her life but are still on the minds of her ancestors. Boys and Girls is the tale of Steven a honey colored boy who is a full time child of privilege and part time escort, tossed into life with a trust fund, despair, attitude and immense destiny that involves the living, the dead and consummate evil. Rema, a willing virago who tears through Marestown, tearing friendships and marriages asunder in her own language, in a near impenetrable jive saturated language only for Black people. Chimaera, the savior time traveler, picking up on is where and when Fatal Lovesick Journey goes sideways and a young man skips through time as a Black man, a White man, an Indian woman an eventually an ideology, fixing, building and re-building slavery; creating, destroying and fermenting new plantations; saving, condemning and redeeming Martin Luther King Jr. and learning the price and delusion of addiction. Desiderata, a beautiful young woman whose name is never spoken fully by anyone, who is held too tight or too loosely, who skips through life trying to find the balance between her dark thoughts and light skin finally seen when a deranged man arrives with true love. And many more profane, heartbreaking and uplifting tales of men and women on the verge, the edge, willingly diving from the precipice. These escapades explore the cohesion of the profane, the fantastic, the erotic and the inherent dilemma of the dialectic.
