This is a romantic novel involving an American Architect who is sent to Indonesia to supervise the construction of a highrise office building in Jakarta. He comes to admire the city and then falls in love with an Indonesian girl. He travels around the country to Bali and many other places while his building is slowly being constructed. But then his life suffers from a world-wide recession, shoddy workmanship on his highrise, and the building owners blaming him for all the problems. His love?s former husband, meanwhile, claims that she is still married to him. After suffering through many problems, they finally get married and honeymoon in Hawaii.
