Luke French is called home to battle greed and racism in a small town and keep his best friend's black grandfather, Obie, from losing his inheritance. They resort to the latest cyber and surveillance technology, special forces contacts and lessons from Obie to take justice into their own hands. Obie guides them by sharing how he and Luke's grandpa, Wild Bill, took on this same group of men when they were all young; back in the days when folks living in the river bottom lands had to take justice into their own hands if they were going to get any justice at all. The story bounces from the Midwest to Afghanistan to the Cayman Islands, to Mexico and Florida before it winds up back on the town square. After justice is served, Luke & his friends are left standing while their adversaries are all either dead, buried, imprisoned or chased out of town.
