Honey, We Shoulda' Bought the Ark: Stories About My Animal Family with a Christian Touch James Dick

Honey, We Shoulda' Bought the Ark follows a man's major adjustment from an urban to rural lifestyle and his development of a much deeper love for animals, both domestic and wild. This change of life is supported by the loving encouragement of his wife, a true animal lover who can "talk with the animals" without even uttering a word. They clearly understand each other and respond in kind. The book is a compilation of stories about many of these animals, including horses, dogs, cats, a variety of birds, and even a few wild creatures which frequently visit. Many of these animals came from a background of neglect and abuse and have been given a home provided they honor one important rule: they learn to live in harmony with the other animal and human occupants. The stories include touches of humor, love, sadness, and even common sense lessons in life that animals teach us daily. They are told just the way they happened and acknowledge mankind's God-given responsibility for dominion over all living things in an appropriate and compassionate manner. No matter what an animal's purpose in life, it should be treated humanely and without suffering or pain. The rural homestead, located in a rustic and beautiful area of farm and woodlands in North Florida, truly is a land-locked ark for the loving animals. It is ongoing, with changes of occupants occurring as nature dictates. Welcome to the Ark.
