Lawrence Higgens wealthy widow Madge Gambol Higgens pushes hard to have Julie arrested for the murder of her husband. Phoenix detective Harrigan thinks Julie is being framed. guilty or not he cannot act without evidence. An unforseen romance complicates matters. the frustrated Cicone is ready to stop the investigation. He's convinced the murder will never be solved. He agrees to follow one last lead. the shocking result of that frustrates him even more. as in the first and second book. Retribution follows suit with another surprise ending. the ending will shock you. Retribution will hold your attention from the first page to the very last page. J. W. Coates has delivered a well written book that does not reveal the plot until the last few pages. a feat that is difficult and rare these days. T. C. Waggoner Stone Free Press
